Terms and Conditions of Sale or Purchase

Welcome to Hands On Ceramics! The following Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases made from Hands On Ceramics and govern your use of our website and your purchase of ceramics and pottery items either through our online store or wholesale program, whether directly or through other vendors. By accessing our website or placing an order for any Hands On Ceramics (“HOC”) product, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Product Information
a. All ceramics and pottery pieces are handmade, which means each item is unique and may vary slightly in size, shape, color, or finish from product photos. These are the natural variations that occur in the process of making handmade pottery. These natural variations are not considered defects but rather add to the uniqueness of each piece. While we make every effort to display product colors and images accurately, we cannot guarantee your device’s display will reflect the product exactly as it appears in person.
Moreover, each piece will be unique. HOC products are all handmade, which means they all have slight variations. No two products will be identical because each piece is hand crafted from start to finish. We do not use molds, we use our hands! So, we hope that you will enjoy the unique features of each and every individual piece we craft.
b. All products are food-safe, dishwasher-safe, and microwave-safe unless otherwise stated.
c. “Seconds” Sale Items: Occasionally we will have “seconds” available for sale on Etsy at a steep discount. These products are discounted specifically because they have minor flaws or imperfections. The price of these items reflects an acknowledgement that these items are, indeed, imperfect. Purchase of these items constitutes a final sale and we do not offer returns, exchanges, or refunds on these items.
Please note that we do not post a photo of every “seconds” item listed for sale. Instead, we list “Seconds” items by showing sample photos of the common flaws that these items contain (including, but not limited to: slight warping on the rim, glaze crawling, glaze blotches). None of the “Seconds” products are broken, cracked, or chipped, and none of the flaws are such that they would render the product unsafe for reasonable usage as advertised.

2. Orders and Payment
a. Retail Orders: Orders can be placed via our website or Etsy shop using our secure checkout. We accept major credit cards and other payment options as listed at checkout. Full payment is required at the time of purchase.
b. Wholesale Orders: Orders may be placed via our Faire Wholesale shop (found on www.faire.com) or through us directly at handsonceramics@yahoo.com. Please message us through Faire or at handsonceramics@yahoo.com with inquiries.
i. Minimum wholesale order value is $300 (three hundred dollars);
ii. Lead times may vary depending on the order but are typically between 4–8 weeks;
iii. Payment is due in full prior to shipment unless otherwise stated in writing; iv. Orders are shipped after receipt of payment in full;
iv. Net payment terms (e.g., Net 10: payment of the full invoice amount is due within 10 days of the invoice date) may be available upon approval.
c. Custom orders: Are considered upon request on a case-by-case basis
i. Procedure regarding custom orders:
1. HOC will discuss the parameters of your order and agree on the dimensions, design, and quantity of your order;
2. HOC will, within a predetermined time frame as agreed to by the buyer and HOC, provide two (2) design samples, which it will ship to the buyer for consideration and modification;
3. HOC will then confirm with the buyer that the design is
final and produce the design within the agreed upon timeframe;
4. All associated material costs and shipping fees are the buyer’s
responsibility unless otherwise agreed upon in writing;
5. All timeframes are approximate and subject to change for unforeseen events or circumstances, non-payment or failure to pay in full (including shipping or material costs), or any changes or approved alterations to the original design;
6. Once the design is approved by the buyer, there are absolutely no alterations, refunds, exchanges, or returns on custom orders.
3. Shipping and Delivery
a. Shipping and Delivery timeframes
i. Retail Orders: All items ship within 7 business days, unless otherwise noted or agreed in writing;
ii. Custom Orders: Custom order shipping times vary. Final products generally
ship within 4–8 weeks of the final order confirmation but these times vary
depending on the type of custom, customer response times, payment, and time of year the custom order is made.
Please note: Custom Orders expected to be received prior to major holidays (ie, Christmas) should be ordered at least 10 weeks prior to the expected delivery date to ensure timely receipt of the order and avoid any shipping or other
uncontrollable or unforeseen delays.
iii. Wholesale Orders: Lead times for wholesale orders vary based on volume and
product availability. Orders typically ship out 4–8 weeks from placement.
Please note: We strongly encourage wholesale orders expected to be received prior to the Holiday Shopping Season (November 24th through December 23rd) to be ordered in August. Orders placed after October 15th cannot be guaranteed to arrive prior to the start of the Holiday Shopping Season.
iv. We ship domestically (United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico) and offer international shipping where available, on a case-by-case basis.
b. Shipping and Delivery Costs
i. Domestic shipping is offered for free when purchasing individual products via Etsy.
ii. Domestic shipping costs for orders placed through Handsonceramics.com or any other platform are calculated at checkout and are subject to change if the order changes.
ii. International shipping costs and all associated packaging fees are the
responsibility of the customer and must be paid in full prior to shipping, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
iii. Custom Order shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer and must be paid
in full prior to shipping, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
iv. Wholesale Shipping is arranged based on the wholesale agreement and billed to
the buyer. Payment is due in full prior to shipment and the order is shipped after receipt of payment in full.
4. Returns and Exchanges
a. Due to the handmade and unique nature of our products, all sales are considered final. However, we understand that certain circumstances may arise that warrant a return or exchange. Requests for returns are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to final approval by HOC.
i. To request a return or exchange for a non-custom or non-seconds sale order,
please contact us at: handsonceramics@yahoo.com within 14 days of
receiving your order.
1. All inquiries must include:
a. your order number;
b. photograph(s) of the item or items;
c. a brief explanation of your concern.
ii. We will respond to your request within 48 hours of receipt.
iii. If an exchange is approved, to effectuate the exchange, the buyer agrees to:
1. pay for return shipping costs and fees
2. Return the item(s) undamaged, in its original condition, and in its original packaging, post-dated within 7 days of agreement to exchange.
b. We reserve the right to deny any return or exchange request that does not comply
with our policy or appears to be fraudulent or unreasonable.
5. Damaged or Lost Items or Packages
a. Damaged Items
i. Retail: If your order arrives broken or damaged, please notify us through Etsy or at
handsonceramics@yahoo.com within 5 days of delivery and include:
1. Your order number and clear photos of the packaging and product;
2. We will respond to your request within 48 hours of receipt.
ii. Wholesale: If order arrives broken or damaged, please contact us through Faire
(if order was placed there) or at handsonceramics@yahoo.com (if placed directly through us) within 5 days of delivery and include:
1. Your order number and clear photos of the packaging and product;
2. We will respond to your request within 48 hours of receipt.
iii. Custom or Seconds: If your order arrives broken or damaged, please notify us
through Etsy or at handsonceramics@yahoo.com within 5 days of delivery and include:
1. Your order number and clear photos of the packaging and product;
2. We will respond to your request within 48 hours of receipt.
iv. If we determine that your items have been damaged by the shipping process, we
will offer either a credit, a refund, or a replacement at our discretion.
v. We reserve the right to deny any return or exchange request that does not
comply with our policy or appears to be fraudulent or unreasonable.
b. Shipping Delay/Lost Items
i. HOC is not responsible for shipping delays or losses once an order has left our
studio and been received by a shipping carrier. This includes delays caused by the carrier, weather, customs processing for international orders, or other factors beyond our control. We are happy to provide tracking numbers upon request and customers may inquire about insurance protection from the carrier.
ii. Once a package is scanned and accepted by the carrier, ownership and responsibility
for the shipment transfers to the buyer. We are not liable for lost, stolen, or
undelivered packages. If your package is marked as delivered but has not been
received, we recommend contacting the carrier directly to file a claim. However, we
are happy to assist in locating your package by providing documentation needed for
a carrier claim. Please contact us at handsonceramics@yahoo.com for such
inquiries.
6. Intellectual Property
All content online, on products, or found anywhere in the world, including images, text, product designs, logos, graphics, pottery, etc., are the property of HOC and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without prior written consent.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our website or products.
8. Privacy Policy
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share your data with third parties without consent.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or change these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with the effective date. Continued use of our site or purchase of additional items after changes constitutes acceptance.
